I have had a few people say to me recently that they love “my style”. I usually say thanks, but part of me is like WHAT part of this says I have any style whatsoever? Maybe because after having kids, things just don’t fit like they used to. Plus, I spent the first 9 months of each of the kids’ life nursing and wearing clothes that were accessible for that. Now that I am no longer nursing or pregnant (for the first summer in 4 years!) I feel like I am finally settling into my own style. Here are a few favorites:
Leggings and Tunics– pretty much all fall, winter, and spring, you can catch me in leggings and tunics. They are comfortable, can be dressed up with jewelry and boots, and are great for those days that the kids and I just stay home. I love love love this style and it’s easily replicated with lots of other things in my closet– like a tee and long cardigan.

Boyfriend Capris– My sister’s friend owns a local boutique in town, and this spring, I tried this brand of jeans that she carries. I am in LOVE! I have since purchased these as well. They are the softest jeans I own, wear well, wash well, and I LOVE love the boyfriend style. I typically am a jeans and tee kind of girl, but these make me feel that I am more on trend, while still being comfortable.
Scarves– My love affair with scarves started when I was nursing the kids. They were a great distraction from my bigger, post pregnancy chest, and also covered any leakage. Brilliant, right? Now that I don’t wear them for that reason, I still love love love them. They add pattern and color and texture to my normal jeans and tee outfits! PLUS, they are an easy way to slowly ease into pattern mixing (see top right photo).
How do you define your style? Do you have a signature look or piece? I would love to hear about it!
