As you have probably guessed, Brayden is big time into the new Disney movie, Planes. Since Dusty Crophopper is “just like” Grandpa Scott, we have been counting down all summer.
Last Friday, we had no plans other than to go see the movie.
Kenley doesn’t have her own Dusty shirt, but Brayden owns around 5 now, so we improvised with one of his. Nothing a ponytail holder can’t fix!
Finally, it was time to go! Brayden was wide awake at 7am asking “Is it time to go yet?” every 5 minutes. We headed out with my sister, grabbed a quick lunch, then met my mom and my brother’s g/f at the theater. I knew that Brayden would be excited, but I did NOT expect him to sit on the edge of his seat the entire time! He clapped, laughed, pointed out the characters that he knew by name, and was totally engaged the entire time.
Kenley? Well, she got a tad restless and ended up falling asleep on my mom’s lap about 3/4 of the way through. For what she did watch, she loved, so I have no doubt that she will love the end when it comes out on DVD!
After the movie, we went to Target, and Brayden just HAD to have the Dusty pillow. He now sleeps with it every night and at naps– oh, and I can’t forget about the blanket. His Dusty obsession is almost worse than his Lightning McQueen/Cars phase.
Planes was a fantastic movie. I could watch it again and again (and I am certain I will!) with no complaints. (Well, don’t quote me on that!) It was SO well done, and as the daughter of a crop duster, I couldn’t be more proud of how that industry was portrayed. Almost reminds me of when another crop duster I know had a dream… and we all know how that has played out!
